Reaganomics can solve this. (Or a flat-tax).. but that'll never happen. I still can't see how everyone is treated equally by the law.. but then are taxed like 40% differently by the same government.. It's tyranny. People paying all of these taxes should get something in return.. other than obama being elected to take more..

I certainly can agree with that. 90,000 employees could lose their jobs now, for $1.75 billion dollars, and we could have air superiority, but instead, we had to spend trillions of dollars to lose jobs.

I agree that defense funding needs to increase, but the missile defense system is foolhardy.

There has yet to be a capable and effective anti-ISBM system. They are notoriously expensive and carry no bang for the buck.

Instead, it should be invested in stuff like F-22 funding which Congress in all its wisdom (or lack thereof) cut.

4% GDP on military is nothing compare to %8 GDP spend on Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid in 2000. That 8% did not even include other social programs. CBO projected the social spending will increase by 2020. We Taxes has to increase by 50% to balance the budget. Those number is a conservative estimate.

This is a great injustice perpetrated by liberals. By raising the number of social recipient to be the majority, liberal could rob, impose their rules and limited liberty on peoples.

Our GDP is declining and the policies of the Democratic Congress will further hamper GDP. Meanwhile, the Repubs accept the fallacious premises of the Dems, so they can at best offer marginal relief. Therefore, is linking Defense spending to GDP as if there was an intrinsically correct number really a good idea? No.

Better to focus upon the more difficult argument about guns v. butter, and the gaps where we have threats for which we will not have a contingency, like missile defense.

In america we are all soliders because we can bare arms. Not even our gov can do anything about it. Nobody is doing anything here.
