He won Celtic's Player of the Year in 2004 in a team that included Petrov, Sutton, Thompson, Hartson and Larsson. He was a top class defensive mid who Celtic wouldn't have got to Seville without, his passing was first class and the fact that you critisize his lack of pace shows how much you know about football, name me a fast defensive midfielder and maybe you'll have a point.
