@Enemyofreali7y You mean the N/A 3.8? They do alright for an older engine, 200HP and 225lbs of torque, the FWD setup helps the torque.

Live in a box. Eat wild turtles for food. Save every dime. Mods are always worth a little sacrifice.

@laci4495 Thanks! It's a 2004 Monte Carlo with a 3.8 V6. But I traded it in last year for a 2006 Monte, which had a 5.3 V8 and half as many miles. The '06 Monte was newer and faster, but it got horrible gas mileage. (The V6 got 24 mpg, the V8 got 17 mpg.) Last month I traded it in for a Hyundai, which now get 38 mpg!!! : ) But since it's a small & weak car I can't race it. Oh well, ya gotta sacrifice one thing to gain another.

Put a Cold Air and magnaflow mufflers (cheap, but good) on it. Maybe see if you can chip it or tune. Good thing about a v6 little things done to them are cheap and made a difference. Dont have an Monte (Jag), but a good car for a great price. Plus you can drive it in the snow(fwd).

Thanks! Trust me, I'd love to add a cat-back system and other mods to this car, but I don't have the money just yet. But yes, this is a great daily driver, comfortable to ride, and decent handling in snow. :)

What did you both run in the 1/4?

Gosh, this was like two years ago... I don't remember what the Mustang's time was, but I think my Monte ran 15.5 or 15.6. Heck, I don't even have this car anymore- a few months ago I traded it in and bought a 2006 SS. A big upgrade from a 3.8 to a 5.3!!! :D The new one gets poor gas mileage though. The '01 V6 got 23 mpg, and the '06 V8 gets 19 mpg. Oh well.
