Jumping Cursor Problems--CY #1

This video demonstrates the problem I'm having on my new notebook. When entering text, the cursor jumps all over the place; usually back amid previously entered text, but sometimes even forward, where no lines have been created yet. Sometimes the cursor moves and drags some text with it. The worst problem, though, is that it sometimes highlights a line of text or a paragraph of text, which then gets deleted by my next keystroke. If I don't watch carefully and catch that it highlighted text, I will type the next letter and then watch the highlighted lines get deleted. Then I have to re-enter the text. I downloaded a new Synaptic touch pad driver with the help of a consultant, but it didn't solve the problem.

I am having the exact problem! I have contacted my computer company support and reinstalled but it hasn't helped either. This is so annoying!!
