Just like the title says! Why you need lockers, even the smallest mud hole can become quite inescapable, with open Diff's!

  • @lazyinaz91 i can understand that i dont do much sand drivin but its still neat

  • @sovietsks45 It will only get you so far. Doesn't work all that well in sand cuz then you are just dragging ass.

  • @lazyinaz91 thats a neat trick dude haha i gotta try that out!

  • Before i got lockers I would just press the parking brake half way down. just enough to fool the rear end to think both tires are on solid ground.

  • it's a combination of driving skills, having the correct type of tires, and yes lockers. In this video the tires were almost worthless in that type of mud, plus the driver had little skill, just stopping in a mud hole then trying to get out is pretty dumb when all good offroaders know you should always keep up some type of movement to avoid getting stuck. Lockers are probably the first thing to invest in even before getting a lift kit. traction is your first, best investment

  • its weird coz my mitsubishi outlander has no locking diffa but when you have a twisted something that puts two wheels that has the least resist6ance they spin and the car doesnt move but when i have it on the gas for like 6 seconds i move forward and i hear the other wheels with the most resitance spinning so maybe it has a lock??

  • @isaiah0137 lockers make both wheels on the axle turn at the same speed, hence they both have equal amounts of power, hence if one wheel is slipping, the other one has traction, a locker would give both power enabling it to use the one with tractio, while if it was a open diff (unlocked), the wheel without traction will have all the power since it has the least resistance

  • what are lockers for?

  • He needs to stay on it longer and not feather the throttle...
