  • hey so im not like attacking u or anything im just wondering why the video of u playing it is different from the tabs? its really good but what u do in the videos arent always what the tab says

  • @Bassmastasnake33 what I do in the videos is usually more accurate. The tabs are old and I have not had any time to update them ;)

  • love your videos but i think this would of sounded better with a pick.

otherwise perfect. im gonna learn this song with alot of credit to you.

  • @no1nos91 what do you mean? I am playing with a pick. ???

  • @parade You sir, are a fucking dumbass and you have just insulted Flea, John ENtwhistle, Justin Chancellor, Paul McCartney, Dave Ellefson, Chris Squire and many other bass players who play with a pick. Yes Flea uses a pick on some songs.

ANY bass player who can ONLY play with his fingers is the only fool limiting himself. A real bassist learns all styles of playing and that includes finger playing, Pop Slap/Funk, and pick playing. BTW, Parade was being sarcastic...

  • @parade bro, i don't think you quite realize what you're getting at here. i love claypool, and i give geddy credit, but there are other bassists just as good. ever heard of flea, john entwhistle, paul mcartney, or chris squire? all play pick (yes, even flea. look up "don't forget me" live sometime) and all are amazing bassists, but (aside from flea) can you imagine how different they would be if they didn't use a pick?

  • @parade bass solo from maxwell murder (by rancid), don't forget me (RHCP). both of which i've tried without pick. it just doesn't work. final chorus from snow (RHCP) is really obnoxious without a pick. lehgo.

  • Just a question, I'm having a bit of trouble figuring out this song on guitar, are you ever going to post tabs of it on tooltabs?

  • @jakedelgrande

They use many actually, but it's mainly based on 4/4, 5/4 (specially the first 3 min.), 6/4 and 11/4.

If that doesn't help, just ask for a tab...

  • hey man great channel, thanx for posting all these vids.

  • @parade 10 months late, but better late than never.

I'm a bassist, but not nearly as good as our fellow here. The fact of the matter is, you wouldn't be able to cover said songs, at least not properly. A pick is used for one reason, and one reason alone: The tone. Using your fingers, you get a padded attack on the string and get a fatter, bassier sound. A pick gets the mids and treble end, which is why Justin uses it, and why this guy uses it. It has nothing to do with ability, just sound.

  • what is the time signatur to rosseta stoned the break down bit?

  • great bass and cover!

  • @kdouglas24 Just save up 6 grand or so, & you should be able to find one

  • @TOOLbassplayer ah got it, ty keep kicking ass sir
