  • @Sheikyerbouti8 Many thanks for the clarification. I'll vet those sources that claimed ataulfos and manilas grow true to type.

  • @logtype47 You can't assume, that trees grown from polyembrryonic varieties (ie Ataulfo and Manila) will be true to type. In a polyembryonic seed, some embryos are clones of the parent tree, and some are sexually reproduced. Without genetic marker tests, there is no way to predict which is which. The clonal embryos will produce good fruit, but the zygotic embryos produce fruit that tastes like dental floss dipped in turpentine. I use all seedlings as rootstock for grafting. Good luck amigo.

  • What type ofn soil are you using for your mango trees?

  • Looks great! I have an indoor growing contest if you're interested stop on by !

  • Those mango plants are beautiful. How many hours of sun are they getting on average.

I've got 12 growing in my yard in SoCAL. 10 Ataulfo and 2 Kent.

Ataulfo and Manila mangoes will grow from seed and produce good fruit without being grafted. The Kents require grafting.
