i have the exact same ds.it used to be my cousins and she put a really deep scratch on it.........
does anyone know how to get it out(without buying things.....)

It's usually caused by excessive pressure put on the touchscreen and/or fractured liquid crystals. I know from experience because I broke my DSi touchscreen by pressing it way too hard...

unscew the ds and youll find 2 little things that look like screws. you can use a screw driver and twist them to fix the flickering problems. trust me it works!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

this only happens because of the ds old age and then the flickering starts with the touch screen then goes to the top screen. its better to get the ds lite since this cant happen to it
