  • That's a fucked up ownwer's manual. When the police arrest you for stoning your teenagers, you can simply refer to the owner's manual, right? Oh, but you don't believe that part, do you? Which do you think I value you more: what the bible actually says or what you think?

  • If you think stoning incorrigible teenagers is wrong, I guess you'd probably also have a problem with Abraham sacrificing his son on the altar. The good news for you is, nobody can tell you how to live, regardless of what I think. You can live any way you want to.

  • how can you claim such bull when you know who wrote that book c'mon your naive and possibly a little retarded and stop saying howdy burn that shirt and move out of your parents house ffs

  • Suit yourself. Good luck with that.

  • I think that it is good and healthy to have pre-marital sex. Firstly because it is a natural human behavourial act and secondly because it plays a huge part a relationship which plays a part in people deciding who they want to marry in the first place.

Other than that I do not beleive in the vow for better or for worse. What is the point in two people carrying on with a marriage if they no longer love eachother and are both unhappy?

  • It might be that sex is so personal that we become diminished when we share it without the security of a life-long, unbreakable vow to be loved for better or for worse. The Book says that life is better when sex is saved for marriage, and that life is better when we keep our promises even when it is unpleasant to do so. I'm not going to pretend to understand why, but I can say that my experience has been that life is better when a person lives like the Book says to live.

  • But I don't think that the bible is a good owners manual for life. You don't bring up the fact that the bible encourages some dispicable acts.

    I have a few questions.

What's wrong with pre-marital sex? Why should people stay married if they are unhappy and it is not working out?

  • What do miracles have to do with it? Here's a test for you: live like the Bible says to live for 5 years (don't lie, think about others more than yourself, no pre-marital sex, stay married, etc.) and see how good your life is. Than live anyway you want to for 5 years and see how good your life is. If your life is better by not following the Owner's Manual for Life, then you have proved that it is not a good owner's manual.

  • My parents made me.

  • You can't compare the bible with an owners manual. The guidelines of an owners manual can be proved to be true by testing them out on the product where as the claims that the bible makes such as miracles cannot.
