You know, for a game as dull as this one...it's pretty awesome in its own way. I mean, you're a muscle-bound Aryan man who punches goblins and bats (on his horse, no less), and the end has you hadoukening a gigantic demon. It knew what we liked in terms of its premise, but GOD did this game look tedious to play.
Ah, well. Gratz, bro.

Reactions: 0:10 - MORE GODDAMN CASTLE?! Please god, make it stop! 0:33 - Dude! Pause it here. Same sprite, different heads! That's why the hero isn't wearing a fucking shirt! Happens again at 0:53 3:40 - THANK GOD the maze running is over! 4:08 - Hadouken! 7:45: Princess: "What happened to your shirt?" Hero: "Shirts are for wimps. You don't want to be a wimp, do you?" Princess: "...What?" Hero: "Your shirt. Take it off." (Long uncomfortable silence occurs)

@xxxPULSE8xxx Absolutely agree with you.Bad comments here give the guys who were born after 1993,after the beatufil Amiga time and the boys who expect every game to look like Crysis and are accustomed to similar games. But,remember this that in the game most important is play joy not graphics or else. There are many examples who approved this.Bye from Macedonia

Ok, Ive been seeing a lot of videos on how difficult old school games for Amiga were. But this is just pathetic... Hercules one-hit kill punches to everything? The guy looks like a dork in brown socks and mailman shorts.

the most irnoic thing is the myriad comments about how this is so similar to Shadow of The Beast...
-
@OldSkoolStudio Well Wrath of the Demon was released before Shadow of the Beast 3, but of course Demon was released after Beast 1 so i will agree instrumentally it sounds much more like Beast 1 than Beast 3 ;)
-
what an unspectecular endfight.
-
i failed bad at this game. same difficulty (well, same game) as beast 3 anyway. good old times though. thanks for uploading.
-
wrath of the demon?
more like shadow of the beast 3
same sounds, same instruments in the music, same gameplay
same animations, same controlls, but gotta say, its still a pretty
good clone
This has to be more than a clone of Shadow... - I mean even the instruments from the theme tune sound the same. Nice graphics for it's time, but the gameplay looks dull as hell, just like the original Shadow... lets be honest here guys, it was a pretty game with absolutely horrific gameplay. I much preferred the sequels puzzle elements, and Psygnosis went on to do some amazing games, but the original just sticks in my mind as being crud.

For its time, this was a fantastic game. As a 14-year-old I used to play this game and it would send shivers down my spine with each new level I reached. Amiga games rock!
