Combat robots take on computer equipment. To win a ScanDisk Cruzer from Gizmodo. Since we did not win, we still had fun. These robots were designed and constructed at Bloomsburg Area High School as part of a robotic design class. The robots placed first, second and third at the 2006 national BattleBots IQ Tournament in Miami. We are always looking for sponsors to help with our engineering program. www.MIrobotics.com

  • nice HS program!! my school can't afford cool classes like that (i wish I had have that class)...

  • Well it is something you need to convince your school that it is really important to actually use what you have learned in math and physics. If you just answer questions at the end of a chapter, not much learning has taken place. If you apply it like these students did to real world problems, they not only learn the theories, they remember them and can actually apply them later in life. We got started when a student told me about the program. Good Luck!

  • That's a lot of destruction for a 15 lb robot. Nice job! what's the name of the robots?

  • there are three of them... Maximum Impact, the drum... Vertex, the spinning disk and Son of X which is not in this video

  • Lol wow. The Dream is Over. Love it!!!

  • Team Mutant Robots. They also built Diesector and Root Canal. Donald Hutson was the team captain.

  • Actually... They stop showing battlebot and didn't updated on the website in the area I'm in. I can't even remember the name of the team that built Tazbot. My memories are not that good anymore. T.T

  • 1 things about your comment:

Maximum Impact is a 15lb bot, their not even in the same weight class!

Get yourself learned, then post back!

  • yes they are competing this year with maximum impact. they have yet to have a battle, however. if we win our next match, supposedly will will be up against vertex

(our robot is the baked muffin, btw :D)

  • Are you planning on entering them in Battlebot? I would love to see you fight Ziggo with Maximum Impact.

  • Can I have your Robots?

  • Our school district had us seek out Corporate sponsors, we ended up with like $10k from local machine & metal shops, Honeywell, and parent's small businesses. The money is there, it's for those who seek it.

  • Bloomsburg High School in Pennsylvania.

  • im making one right now for grade 9 (i live in canada so thats a freshman :p) and our weight limit is like 75 pounds but our arena and everything is sooo underfunded, some ply wood with hockey glass on the sides
