Amazing, from start to end! Nice touch at the end, "How in one night have we come... so far" kind of like "and rain will make the flowers... grow" in Les Mis 'A little fall of rain'! :)

@majikstar It was the only way she could get her son to America. Earlier in the musical Ellen tells Kim she won't take her son because her son needs his mother. By committing suicide Ellen and Chris now feel they have to take her son to America. She did it to give her son a better life. At least that's how I see it.

This scene ripped my heart out when I saw it on broadway. I was almost sobbing when the house lights came up. Very moving.
