The island of Madagascar is known for its biodiversity, but is threatened by deforestation. Earthwatch scientist, Dr Luke Dollar is making a distinct difference in Madagascar's future, through his research of endangered predators in remote forest reserves.

Aided of course by Earthwatch volunteers from around the world.

  • Do you use live chickens in the traps? In the briefing on the Earthwatch Europe website... I am thinking of going on this expedition, what is it like?

  • @themusictomyears if you get a chance to go take it, i had a really great time and it really helped that i read up about it before hand so i had some background knowlegde when i got there, i am hoping to do another conservation project this year, although earthwatch was great i would really like to try out a different company that does teen projects for 16/17 year olds does anyone know any??????

  • @themusictomyears did you end up going on the trip? if so, how was it? :) if you didn't, are you going this year?

  • @posylocks really? that's awesome! you're so lucky! how'd your trip go?

Last year i really wanted to go, but by the time i found out about the trip, it was too late because i didn't have enough money to pay for the trip. :(

this year i applied for a grant, so hopefully i can go this year!

  • Im going on this project , I've never done anything like this before and altohough i have read some guide books i still feel I have very little knowledge about Madagascar or the animals I will be studying , this video was is very useful but does anyone have any other knowledge or tips for me to keep in mind when I go? Im particularly interessed if anyone has any more information on fossas, thank you, Im so excited =]
