There are very few places on the fault that you can actually "see" while on the ground; the traces are very subtle. It's much more visible from the air.

I live in Southern California the longer it stays dormant the better.

If you want to find traces of the San Andreas fault where you can walk, there are several maps published by the US Geological Survey that provide detailed information. Send me a message and I'll give you more details.

LOL, I had a ecology teacher that actually took his class (I was in it) to this spot, if its out by Palm Springs. Except he didnt tell anyone that we were standing on the San Andreas ... never have I felt sicker.
any attempt to make a video on the subject would be great for those who are interested but is there any way to get an explanation as to what we're looking at ? The limited time frame of the vid and lack of any commentary or explanation does leave alot of un-answered questions IMO. But no biggy.
If your into SoCal quake stuff then more power to you !

What you are looking at is The San Andreas fault line. This is were the earth has been pushed up over millions of years and the cause of many earthquakes Now I am not educated enough to make much more commentary on seismology etc and thats why they have guided tours but if people do go on a tour - then this is what they will see and not the crack in the ground that I thought i would see
