I show you how to create a bootable USB drive for use with Mac's Time Machine without using the DVD(you do need your DVD to image it).You can also use the USB drive to boot into an installed OS 10.5 .

  • what dvd are you making an image of? the leopard disk? whats the point of making a copy of it? why did you make 2 partitions for it?

  • I made a copy of install dvd cause i dont like to use the originals(to protect them),because its faster to run off a frwire or usb than dvd, because 1 drive can contain all you need instead of looking for software, and finally,i just wanted to see if could be done.

  • 5 total partitions used:3 for all my macs(each for use with Time Machine).1 for image of DVD install 10.5 leopard.1 to install 10.5 so now i can boot off usb drive to rapair my other macs

or friends macs.I could have done 2 more, 1 for all my files(backups maybe) & 1 for all my progs.
