That's the Italian version. Tesla was Serbian, and using the Roman alphabet, his name is spelled with a "k".

Serbia existed much before that. And everyone knows when u say Yugoslavia u first mean on Serbia. You talking about independence? LOL
No problem, here u go:
-Serbian first independence (statehood) : 850
-Serbian kingdom: 1217
-Serbian empire: 1346 (what about Croatian empire, did they have one)
-Serbian 2nd independence: 1878 (Croatia was under Austro-Hungarian empire during that time)
It is better for you to do some research, before you start to bullshit here...

I'm getting tired of all these fight between Serbs and Croatians. Tesla was a Serb, born as an ethnic Serb. But I don't get why you Croatians have to lie and say he was Croatian altough he was born to Serbian parents. There is no need to argue about this, no need for Serbs and Croatians. Read some articles about him and you'll get to know that he was a Serb!

@gkaufman68 you may be right about Tesla's first name being Nikola with a K but Nicola with a C is not always a girl's name. In Italy many men are given Nicola as a first name for instance the football player Nicola Berti

@DuchessAliana Tesla was a Roumanian. He was born into a Roumanian community. The name Nicolae become Nikola. The name of that community is ISTROROMANI. Now when he is so famous America tries to take him as truly american. At that time americans had despised him. Just because Roumania or that community had'n been able to support him, doesn't mean he had changed his nationality. By the way, he knew 6 foreign languages including Roumanian.

@cromatical Croatia was a World War 2 puppet state of Nazi Germany, established on a part of Axis-occupied Yugoslavia. The NDH was founded on 10 April 1941, after the invasion of Yugoslavia. In 1856 when Tesla was born Croatia didn't exist. Tesla was born in Austro-Hungarian Empire. (today called Croatia)
Tesla's parents were Serbs Milutin Tesla Serbian orthodox priest, and mother Djuka Mandic a Serb from Gracac.
Hows is it possible for Tesla to be Croat seriously???
Sorry, but Nicola is a girl's name. His name IS spelled Nikola. Google it.
