  • Our trailer park stocks replacement power supplies. Yours should too.

  • Ours ran out, hence the "MacGuyver" fix job.

  • I would like to point out on the before and after part of this video, the before part had a very noisy sound coming from the fan. When I uploaded the video to YouTube it muted this sound, if you turn up your speakers and the video's audio, you can still partially hear this "before" sound.

  • I WANT THAT SCREWDRIVER

  • Thankyou very much. you just resurrected my dead computer although you should add that some fans have a rubber cap under the sticker. i didnt know about that which caused me troubles.

  • My PSU started to be a little bit noisy. I've had it for a bit over a year now, and it's not really running that much compared to so many others. Anyway, I did as in the video and it totally worked. Awesome, thanks!

  • my fan has no hole in the middle, still buzzing as of now

  • Appreciated. Great tip with the Sewing Oil. It fixed my smaller Fan on my Asus Eee Box.

I recommend Cotton Sticks and kitchen roll to wipe off excess Oil if you work with laptop sized fans.

  • thanks it really worked :-)

  • @technicdesigner Did you drop a screw in it? Knowing you personally, I think you probably will have done...

  • Today my power supply fan has just started making a noise - kinda like a cricket or grass hopper, it seems to get quieter when a game (like battlefield) isn't running, should I do this, or just replace the fan? I just don't want it over heating and then the psu dying and then it taking other components with it as it is only 3 and a half months old. Any help?

  • Worked like a charm. Thanks!

  • Void Warranty, And I dont have a 2000 PC.

  • thnks man this video was a grt help nd it wrkd prfct fr me and hardly a 10 min task ,save money :)

  • @SkulLzSouL It's so much joy fixing things then replacing them altogether.
