@Trent1080 No amount of thujone causes hallucinations. It's just an uneducated, ignorant misinterpretation of absinthism. Not to say absinthism itselv was fictituous, too. You can take the thujone content of a whole bottle of 1900's absinthe and you still won't notice anything. Already tested on human subjects.

@Jcolinsol Thujone is an active ingredient in absinthe that will give you a hallucination, however there is none sold in the US with high enough thujone levels to give you one.

When you put the other two measures of water do you need to put 2 other sugar blocks? Sorry, my english isn't good!

This is the best absinthe preparation movie, love the accent. The song is finally up at youtube at my channel or search: Broadcast - We've got time
@Trent1080
I believe that to be an urban legend. Thujone is a convulsant, not a hallucinogen, according to the chemical analysis that I've read.
Moreover, the amount of thujone in Absinthe is so small that you would die of alcohol poisoning before ever feeling the effects of thujone.
If you want a high dose of thujone, you'd get more out of a meal cooked with sage than by drinking Absinthe.

@taafraeser thujone levels have no bearing on absinthe's taste. you are seeking something this drink is not capable of delivering in any form short of the illegal. (which wouldnt be absinthe anymore.) the current czech crap you reference is NOT true absinthe. the name given is that of a "faux" absinthe. the reason older absinthe (pre ban 1910) is sought after is because the mystery of how its made well was lost due to 96 years of abolition due to demonizing by the wine industry. read stoopid.
