My only question is just how incriminating is Silverstein's purchase of insurance against terrorism? Isn't that standard for insurance purchases on buildings, to include terrorism insurance in the insurance package?

@rfalfonse It was quite standard, pre-9/11. Silverstein had a clause in the insurance stating that in the event of a terrorist attack he and Lowy could collect, but would be released from all their obligations under the lease.

Taking over the lease of ~30-year-old buildings 6 weeks before the attacks is a 1 in 260 chance. The probability of Silverstein not breakfasting at the WTC on 9/11, and of his children both being spared, is about 1 in 3,000.
