Environment is perceived with a laser range finder (Hokuyo). Katana acts without colliding with obstacles. The scene recognition and the mobile manipulation is done autonomously.
Nice, but can the robot determine whether the cups still contain some liquid? If so then dropping one into the other would not be a good strategy. Also dropping cups into a bin might not be a good way of tidying them up. If they're not made of plastic, they could break.
