This years Conference for the Advancement of Science Teaching was held in Galveston, Texas. Last year it was hit by one of the most destructive hurricanes in Texas history. Ike devastated the island city, but the resiliency of the community is so amazing. Im certain that there are many places that look fine on the outside, but suffering on the inside.
Irma and I went on a field trip to learn about the fisheries on the island. One of our purpose was to collect video and photographs of the amazing marine life. We saw pelicans, egrets, gulls, ospreys, cormorants, and many other species. Marine creatures included different varieties of jelly fish and bony fish.
While on the trip we were given the opportunity to catch bull redfish. It was amazing. This video is a testament of the way nature deals with catastrophic weather events. The fishing is still good in these waters.
Well done ....looks like a great time . Congrats.
