It shouldn't matter if you write the song or not. He could have easily said "I want a rock record" but he pansy'd out and did a pop music record.

@Afireinside912 All of the songs in which he sounds like a 'pop princess' aren't actually HIS songs. Most of the songs in his first album were written by other artists, mostly pop or pop-esque ones. The songs he writes are actually not that 'pop'. Maybe glam rock, but not 'pop'. Consider this: 'pop' is short for 'popular'. Mainstream. Does he sound mainstream to you?
