It's a very long and convoluted story. Suffice to say that the two groups don't see eye to eye on just about anything. Even if they sold #8 back to Edaville, it would still need tens of thousands of dollars in work to conform to the latest FRA standards.

you should see how mngr treats the equipment, it looks awful.

@1981deloreanfan They've had their challenges. I understand that the board of directors was all but replaced recently - perhaps that's a good sign. They've done the best they could but the equipment is in deplorable shape and there's no money to repair it - the usual story for museums without rich benefactors or a large fan base...and their "railroad" has potential but right now it's a pitiful 1 1/2 miles long and goes nowhere. And having it in the middle of a boat yard doesn't help.

is this place still around?

@shininghappyperson7 Not per se. The park is in fact for sale even now. It went through several changes of ownership over the years. The original 5.5 mile line was shortened to about 2, and the "original" steam went to Maine. It's been a shell of its former self for many years, appealing mostly to families with kids (as opposed to families with kids and steam fans.) The last chapter has yet to be written but it doesn't look good for Edaville.

Didn't the railway get shut down?
Or did they reopen?
I was told they shut down about 3-4 years ago...

Not, they're still going, albeit with a much shorter track and very, very occasional steam. It's nothing like it was in this video anymore.
