Does anyone know if the music used first in the ride is a actual song or just made for the ride?
The one that is also used after "Those who seek the spirit of Norway, seeks peril and adventure, but more often find beauty and charm..."
-
I remember going on this ride during the day and when getting off I thought it was actually night time outside. hahah
-
Am I the only one that hears the narrator in the post-ride film call it Norvay?
-
It's a shame they didn't make any of the Vikings look like Hakon; would've given the ride an extra touch of Disney without being overly-cutesy.
-
@ru42 Yeah, I remember some of the playground. But they closed it off because kids kept getting hurt or jumping off into restricted areas or some other such nonsense.

@beasst94 It is from Jan Garbareks album "Officium", Hes a famous norwegian sax player. The vocals are by The Hilliard Ensemble. Enjoy :)

This is my favorite country to visit in World Showcase. I love them all but this is special. The Maelestrom Ride is awesome, the restaurants are fantastic and the people are lovely. What a fantastic country and culture. ANd it's even more beautiful at Christmastime. :)

@AquaFanForeverX - I agree. I have always had a soft spot for this Pavilion. My honeymoon was at WDW back in 91. The people in the restaurant made our meal there A++; very heart warming, special, the Walt touch if you know what I mean. Since then I have always had a heart connection with this pavilion.

I thought there was a swinging ship ride in Norway. It was a favorite of my grandfather's. Did they replace it, or am I thinking of a different ride?

There is no swinging ship at Norway nor anywhere else at WDW. At second 28 you see a viking ship. However, it is a stationary ship - more like a playground.

It starts at about :52. I know it is as the Stave Church music (the building you see at :52. If there is an official title I do not know what it is. I hope that helps you some.
