Beth+Phillip(+Harley):~"We Have Unfinished Business."~ Harley will have visitations with her son, but under court supervision, Gus is not allowed to go anywhere near Zack or he risks being thrown in jail, and a counselor will be recommended for Eden. Harley is devastated. Gus pleads with Harley, Please say that you know that she is lying. Please say that you still trust me. Harleys trust in Gus is unwavering, but she cant choose between Gus and her son. Gus would never ask that of Harley. Gus kisses Harley and promises to stay out of her life until this whole mess is resolved. Gus exits.
Harley removes manila folder (the one that she received while pretending to be Eden in Chicago) from her purse.
Phillip enters. Phillip seems sincere, Im sorry this had to happen. You can see Zack any time you want...day or night. I did not want to have to take him a way from you. This is not what this was about. Harley is clueless. Phillip tells Harley that Gus is wrong for her and Zack.
Phillip is with Zack when Alan enters. This calls for a celebration Alan says as he offers Phillip a couple of illegal cigars, we can blow the smoke in my sons face, and if were lucky the arbitrator will come back and catch us doing it. On second thought, why dont I take Zack into the kitchen for a milk shake? Alan exits with Zack in hand. Alan is telling Zack all about the prep school that he (Alan) is going to get him (Zack) into, the sports car that hes (Zacks) going to get when hes (Zacks) sixteen, the office waiting for Zack at Spaulding Enterprises as soon as he is old enough,
Phillip is surprised to see Beth. Arent we all because we know how she loves to make herself disappear. Beth is still angry about being left on Mystic Island with no way home, You ditched me. Phillip has had a rough day and really doesnt want to get into a heated discussion with Beth at the moment, Lets save this for another time. Beth doesnt appreciate being hung up on. Oh well, get over it. Phillip begins to walk a way, and an annoyed Beth warns him, Dont walk away from me. We have unfinished business. This chick is really beginning to act like Lorelei. Beth doesnt have the backbone to talk to anyone like that. And didnt she have another one of those excruciating headache last week? You know, similar to the one she had the last time Lorelei emerged. Phillip explains that he has just spent the afternoon with an arbitrator making sure that Zack will be no where near Gus. Phillip is annoyed. As big a menace as Gus Arturro is there is an even bigger danger to my family and its coming from right inside his house. Phillip slams a copy of Loreleis diary down on the kitchen table. Beths mouth is agape as she looks surprised. I guess she is going to play the stupid role too. Beths life as Lorelei is going to cause a lot of problems. Beth never asked for Loreleis diary to be published. This is all someone elses doing. Phillip wants to do some damage control: Beth is going to Tell the children, the publishers, and anyone else who will listen that the diary is a fake. Whoa, whoa, whoa. Its not that easy. Beth is not so convinced that the diary is fictitious. I guess she figures Loreleis life to be more intriguing than her own
Beth and Phillip are still going at it. Phillip wants a disclaimer on the diary. Who cares about this diary? Beth is not sure that it is a fake. There are pages missing from the diary. Those pages have proven to be true. They talk about Bill and he and Loreleis wedding in Mexico. Beth is afraid that if she says that the diary is a fake then people mentioned in the diary will come forward seeking a settlement.
Phillip and Beth are on the same subject, Loreleis diary. How long can two people argue about the same thing? I have an idea: lets kill Beth and bring on Lorelei; because, she has to be more interesting. Beth is still on her I am not the blame for what Lorelei did. Phillip realizes that Beth was sick when all of this mess with Lorelei transpired. Was sick? What do you mean was? Lorelei was Beths way of protecting herselfa way for her to heal. The two continue their argument. Phillip would have moved mountains for Beth, but he is not so sure of Beths loyalty to him.
