Yes, this is very cool. Yes, that's a great pattern. But are kids going to draw this chart each time they need to find the prime factorization of a large number to check if 3 is one of the factors? Hm... maybe for smaller kids.

Yes it is cool and a great pattern. AND look at the 3s table to notice that you can easily find the prime factorization of a large number to see if 3 is a factor. Notice that every number in the 3s has a digital root of 3,6, or 9 (digital root means add all the digits in a number until only 1 digit remains). For example: 1+2+6=9 so 3 is a factor of 126 or 162 or 216 or 261 or 612 or 621. No need to draw the table, except to confirm for yourself that the digital root is always 3, 6, or 9. Try it
