just wanted to comment on his 3rd myth, yup some countries or business entities relativiely get worse off as a resulte of international trade, but if you have an absolute view, its obvious everyone benfits from that, protectionism is shit the government does to keep cash in itheir pocket
@26121985krr Protectionism actually serves the businesses of a few in a country, mainly helping monopolies form and stay in power. This is because once these monopolies are established, protectionism helps quash any competition that can challenge these monopolies and help these monopolies bully the smaller businesses. This is what's happening in the Philippines.
How did he even get an idea that it is the poor countries that are generally considered to profit more from free trade? Isn't quite the opposite a reason why so many developing countries are fighting for their right to protectionism? I do not understand his judgment behind all of those layman jokes and anecdotes...
