The only reason that Honda and Toyota are so good is because their unions aren't as strict and dont pay their workers as well as the UAW. It's the Unions fault that some american cars from the 80s and 90s aren't the best quality but others are, tell me when was the last time you owned a GM, Ford or Chrysler vehicle. We have friends with a 1998 Dodge Grand Caravan and it has not had any major problems. People these days just confuse the hell out of me.
IPOMonster, we need people to build products, they dont just build themselves. Also The Auto Workers in the U.S.A working for GM, Ford, or Chrysler are getting pretty dang good wages because of the unions. Everyone is losing money in this economy not just blue collar workers.
The American Automobile is designed to only make it seven years or just out of waranty. To plop down $24,000 on a new car to only be worth $8000.00 in four years is a very bad investment. Thats almost worse than maxing out a credit card. Soon all American companies will be hit with a "carbon" tax. The UAW gets money from its members to bully companies for more better bennifits. Most of these jobs are in big cities to where it takes 35 an hour just to barely make it over poverty.
Nice message. The trolls here reveal their ignorance and lack of credibility when they flame about $70 wages, legacy costs, and other things they clearly know nothing about and likely ripped from some right-wing hero of theirs.
I guess being competitive means we need to pay 25 cents an hour like the Chinese. Funny thing is, most of the jobs going overseas now are not union jobs, they're non-union jobs from right to work states whose employers aree complaing about the high $7/hour wages they have to pay.
The people who wrecked this country are the free traders who believe the "free market fairy" is going to come and make everyone rich on law wages.
HA!
"We build quality cars and trucks..."
Consumer Reports' reliability report cards say otherwise.
"We won't let America down..."
Tell that to eveyone who has switched to Japanese brands after owning Detroit brands.

You're not bankers because you don't have something called an EDUCATION!
See kids??? Study in school or you'll end-up as a dumbass working on an assembly line making shitty American cars.
A job a monkey can do!

You are already out of business, UAW people.
Since december 2008 you are on the Federal Dole, and it is not going to last.
* If you are a worker, it is time to move and to look for another job. Maybe in another state. Got it?: TIME TO MOVE.
* If you are a UAW boss, it is time to look for a REAL job.
