The Last Days of Pompeii 1984 (Episode 1 part 01/10)

"The Last Days of Pompeii" was a 1984 television movie broadcast on ABC-TV, adapting the 1834 novel of the same name by Edward Bulwer-Lytton. It was the first English-language adaptation of the book for film or television (previously adapted only in Italian, with the 1935 RKO film unrelated to the novel).

I've been trying to find this movie for so long! I remembered seeing it as a child. I downloaded the 1959 version, thinking it was the movie I remembered; the story was the same, characters, too.

But as I watched it, I knew it wasn't the movie I remembered; the actors play was not the same, special effects were cheaper, and the final scene was set during the day. Then what WAS that movie?

I read on wikipedia that there was a miniseries version of that story and I found it here. Thanx!
