Sleeping accommodations are available on most long-distance routes. Amtrak trains traveling on long-distance routes typically use either two-level Superliner or one-level Viewliner train car equipment, each of which include bedrooms arranged in various configurations and private and public bathrooms and showers.

A Superliner Roomette is ideal for one or two passengers, with two comfortable reclining seats on either side of a big picture window. At night, the seats convert to a comfortable bed, and an upper berth folds down from above. Roomettes are located on both upper and lower levels of double-decker Superliner train cars.

A Superliner Bedroom is ideal for two passengers, but can accommodate three (two passengers must share the lower berth). Call 1-800-USA-RAIL for help reserving the Superliner Bedroom for three passengers. Each room has a large sofa with two individually reclining sections, and a reclining easy chair. At night, the sofa converts to a comfortable bed, and an upper berth folds down from above. All Superliner Bedrooms feature private, self-enclosed restrooms with toilet, sink and shower. All Bedrooms are located on the upper level of double-decker Superliner train cars.

  • holy crap dude! ur an amtrak employee! nice!:D

  • @amtraksouthwestchief Sorry to disappoint but....I am only a Station Host Volunteer. I do not work on the train nor film Amtrak as a railfan. I Had the opportunity ( off duty of course) to give a tour so I took it , but my position is only at the train stations in Dallas and Fort Worth. I am looking to apply at Amtrak when I'm out of high school for an employee position out of Chicago ( Central division). Thanks for the comment though!

  • GREAT VIDEO MAN!!

  • @dheinerrr thank you for the kind comment

  • Very impressive video! I take the Capitol Limited quite often, as my future wife lives in Pittsburgh, and ALWAYS get a Roomette. Its worth the extra cost; I took a Coach seat once from Pittsburgh to Chicago, and I won't ever do it again! Thanks for such a quality video!
