Seeburg 148 Trashcan

Seeburg 148 Trashcan. My DH and his brother restored this jukebox. The Seeburg 148 was the last of
this style of Seeburg jukebox. It came out in 1948, and is considered by many collectors as the best of the series.
The series of models consisted of 146, 147 and 148. Corresponding to manufacturing years of 1946, 1947, and 1948.

They had one of these appear on Pawn Stars, the guy who did the "Restoration" for them ruined the finish, overcharged them, and overinflated the value to 1015 Wurlitzer levels. He stripped of the Dinoc wood grain and redid it with some crappy brush streaks, it looked muddy, and charged them $3500 for the privilege. No excuse for that since you can still by Dinoc from 3M, even in reproducing it by hand it should have looked better.

We saw that episode, too, and all we can say is that the Seebuurg in that

episode deserved a much better restoration than it got. You're right...it

looked muddy.

I have just bought a 148 Trashcan. All complete with dome and grill colour diffusers. Just need to get it over to the UK from the US and restore it now! It will keep my 3 Wurlitzers and Seeburg V200 company on those cold winter evenings!

Actually my husband & his brother restored it themselves. They got the majority of the parts for it from Victory Glass. It took a good month for them to restore it--which was well worth the wait. Good luck in restoring your jukebox!

Sorry, it's not for sale. We enjoy it too much to sell it. But we are glad you enjoyed the video. The average cost of a restored "trashcan" is about $3000-$6000.
