Thanks for a great book. I long for the return of the Jewish People to the lush green of Gush Katif, which Sharon's army have turned to dust and the Arabs have turned to blood. We have today a very intense struggle for the Land of Israel; come to Homesh, to Shvut Ami, to the Hevron Peace House...and with the help of G-d we will also return to Gush Katif!

Dear Shifra,
Thank you so much for writing your book - Grains of Sand. Although I haven't yet read it, I got a glimpse , through this video piece, of what it details and describes - The ignoble and outright *dishearting expulsion that was Gush Katif... Thank you so much Shifra for doing such a blessing of a work and making people aware of the past and ongoing tradegy that is happening to The Israeli Settlers. Continue to, despite all odds, to move foward and with courage, hope and faith!-Edward

Shifra, you express yourself so well.
Good luck!
Thanks Shifra, for keeping the heart and soul of Gush Katif and your lovely community of Neve Dekalim alive through your words. It is because of your efforts that we first learned of Gush Katif and the August 2005 destruction of these vibrant communities. Thanks for giving us a beautiful window into the place that was GK. For all those wanting to learn more about GK and Neve Dekalim, Shifra's book is a "must read."

Shifra, you should consider writing another book -- working title: After the Exodus -- and cover how long it has taken to be able to get into a permanent home. This facet is the most heartbreaking of all. Not only were you ejected from your homes, but you have been prevented from taking full-part in your chosen society, by not having been given the opportunity to reclaim your permanent residence elsewhere.
