The draw back with options that is not mentioned at all is if the value of gold or whatever goes down below your estimate (or strike price), you lose the whole investment. Everything. Could it be his real source of reliable income is from the scamming industry?
If you look at the DJ or SP 500 you will see that there is VERY little volume. Almost no one is trading this rally. Its being pushed up by large scale speculators with cheap money.

Yes, gold is also a speculative market but their are VERY strong reasons to hold onto it long term
