@IceColdBeerPlease Speaking of educating yourself, you should really look up this type of preparation, Ikizukuri, on wikipedia because you obviously haven't done your research. The heart is still beating. Some forms of Ikizukuri actually return the fish to the tank to swim after the 1st course while preparing for the 2nd course. Just sayin.

I have noticed a staggering amount of racism, ignorance, and stupidity in these comments. If all you pretentious asshats did research, you would know that Ikizukuri is a delicacy. It is very expensive and not commonly eaten. Now the US, on the other hand, consumes a MASSIVE amount of beef and poultry. These animals are raised in substandard conditions, often being deprived of movement and space. Before you berate another country for their eating habits, get a fucking clue.

If any living thing or for example you were chopped up like this you will still be alive until all the blood thats flowing to your brain stops, then you will be dead. The muscle spasms is just for the other half of the body that is not connected to the head. Without destroying the brain the fish feels every ounce of pain there is to feel.
