Chand Jane Kahan Kho Gaya is a melodious duet sung by Lata and Rafi for the film Main Chup Rahungi. Prof. Qasim Hasan Zaidi & Mrs. Talat Rizvi have resung this duet to revive the memory of the great masters who contributed towards this old Hindi film like, Chitargupta, Rafi, Lata, Meena Kumari and Sunil Dutt Rajendra Krishan and A. Bhimsingh
The theme of the film is that Narayan (Nana Palsikar) works as a laborer on a farmland owned by businessman Ratan Kumar, in Ramnagar. Although Narayan was an ex-convict, Ratan had assisted him getting a job, some land, and a small house where he now lives with his grown daughter, Gayetri (Meena Kumari), who used to work as a teacher. To his complete shock, Narayan finds out that Gayetri is pregnant. Ratan asks Narayan to take some money and relocate, which Narayan gratefully does. Gayetri gives birth to a baby boy, and Narayan takes him to an orphanage donated by Ratan himself, and informs Gayetri that her child was still-born. Gayetri and Narayan eventually return to Ramnagar, and as luck woould have it, Gayetri finds a job as a teacher in th orphanage that her son (now named Shyam) lives in. When Ratan's son, Kamal (Sunil Dutt), returns from Singapore, he meets Shyam and likes him, but when he finds out that his school-teacher is Gayetri, he demands that Gayetri be fired as she is not of good character. Who is Shyam's father, why Gayetri remains silent about her child's identity, and what Kamal knows about Gayetri's background are the questions to be discovered later in the film.

  • This is delightful!

    Faved it.

  • @MB7world Thank you, Mark.

  • The melodies of Lata Ji & Rafi Sahab are indeed an awesome treasure with us. They're with us when we are sad...they're with us when we are happy; cheering us in our sadness, buoying us in our joy.

Qasim Bhai & Mrs Talat, not only, showed their keen sense in understanding the melodic spirit of the song, but sang it magnificently. Qasim Bhai's profound knowledge of music makes a difference; Mrs Talat looked confident & composed. A very fine upload.

    Thanks so much for sharing!!

  • What a charming sweet vintage song, sung with so much oomph by you Qasim Ji, it's delightful ! :) Mrs. Rizvi's sweet rendition was just as much a joy to sit back, & enjoy. :)

I especially love the lyrics from 1:31 with her, in that gorgeous garden courtyard, soaking in that vintage charm & elegance with him, in a blissfully sweet n discreet romance of yesteryears, still charming us as it did, in old Bombay films :)

Your incredibly crisp video, makes it an ever sweet presentation ! :)
