Hummer H3 with custom Whelen Vertex LED park/warning lights. LEDs have been modified to replace existing parking lights with dual function LEDs. Solid -low intensity when vehicles lights are on, then flash full power when warning lights are activated.

  • how did you do the stedy on and then flash

  • @fiafighterdude - Resistors & Diodes... would be a simple approach, but these were done internally.

  • thats a great idea

  • @mrledlights - Thanks, they seemed to like them too! They wanted roof lights, but didn't want the holes or the look of conventional lightbars.

  • awesome setup... reallly like the vertex hidaways

  • @TraumaJunkie21 - Thx!

  • @orangeeaglegt - Resistors & Diodes... would be a simple approach that works, but these were done internally.

  • @TheRedneckAsian - ULF44 is an option, however that's a lot more wire to run (not much room up there) and all VTX's would have to be set to steady. We utilized the factory wires and added a 'trigger' for the flashing without drilling any additional holes (not sure the ulf44 was available then...). The 'dealer installed' marker light package was notorious for leaking and threads stripping.

  • They could be set to steady burn and wired up to a ulf44. Which allows you to choose 2 flash patterns depending on whether the override pattern is selected or not.

  • what did you do to the vertex lights to make them dual function?
