  • Wonderful stuff! Brilliant music from a brilliant film, and all done in a slightly tongue-in-cheek way - excellent.

  • Thanks Stephen. Glad you enjoyed it.

  • i am a trout and salmon man but i fancy a bash 4 these mullet. is this a good time to fish for them, i live in SW scotland

  • Yes, you'll probably see loads of them in the harbour at Portpatrick and the Clyde estuary. The two methods that work best for me are either to float fish or free line bread flake (I've even done this using a fly rod) or to use a spinning rod with a spoon and some ragworm. If you use the bread method it is imperative you groundbait first to get them on the feed.

  • loved it! your efforts were well appreciated by me. I doubt Charles Bronson ever caught a mullet, let alone visited West Sussex? Really well done.

  • Thanks for your kind words 4lawn. Actually, I'm pretty sure Charlie B had one of the beach huts there.

  • i was fishing yesterday caught 7 mullets then i got stung by 2 bees

  • What's the music?

  • Man I got a good one like a week ago from a lake (weighed around 300g) and I let it go. It was pretty easy to get them with corn, but since they take really long to grow to such sizes and don't taste particularly good, it wasn't worth keeping.

    Good video!

  • Ready for a bomb guys? They can be caught on a Mepps spinner with a short piece of a live worm as a trailer

  • the man without net!? wtf xD

  • get a cast nett you will save sooooooo much time

  • Hi SkythMassaghet , that one was on float fished bread but I have had one on a fly heavily disguised as a piece of bread. Not sure if that counts...

  • caught on a fly or piece of breat? Thx 4 sharing m8!

  • "They don't bite" I used to think that and I'm afraid viewed fishing for them as a forlorn exercise. That was until I saw a DVD on the Subject, Mythical Mullet with Mike Ladle. It's true they can be fussy but you can get them to feed, try baiting with bread, little and often. Be careful too much and they'll follow the bread down-tide. Once you've spotted them taking the bread try fishing on or just under the surface. Once you've hooked one don't bully it but get ready for the fireworks to start.

  • Went to Girvan in the summer for a days fishing at the estuary hoping to catch a few salmon.

At the campsite it is free to fish, but up-river it's £45 for a days fishing. We expected good fishing but when we got there the banking was fenced.

The fishing was poor, and nothing was happening then all of a sudden two big mullet swam past, it was my first time seeing them.

Apparently theres thousands of them in the estuary, but they don't bite.
