At the Hostel in Soho - On April 15th 2009, Madeleine Peyroux and John Herrington visited a St Mungo's homeless hostel in London. They were there to help celebrate St Mungo's 40th Anniversary and to take a look at the recording studio used by the residents as part of one of the educational and recovery programmes that St mungo's offers to London's homeless. Madeleine spent time with a few of the residents and then they jammed! There was an amazing atmosphere and some great music, as they played some of Madeleine's tunes, some of the residents' tunes and some covers too. This tune, Instead, comes from the Bare Bones album and includes some footage and photos from the day which, I hope, gives an impression of the fantastic vibe that was created between everyone involved. The musicians were Madeleine Peyroux, John Herrington, Steve Light, Richard Hellis, Alpheous Little with Matt Catlow engineering.
