C'mon dude. It's a kids show. Just play along.

@sweetlife031 freaked me out also

This skit freaked the heck out of me as a child! I still can't figure out how that worker didn't get chewed up too! But...that end music we hear while the teeth are chewing is quite when skits got...out of hand lol

this scared me as a kid

@starwarsrebel2006 Yes, its what I call the feminization of America ... other call it the nanny state.

I think kids are overly protected these days compared to when we were kids in the 70's. When I was about 3 I rode a tricycle, then a couple of years later a bicycle. What I distiinctly remember was that there wasn't a kid in the world that wore a helmet back then. It wasn't even a consideration. And child seats in the car? I'm not sure if those were even invented yet. Not that any of it is bad, but just saying we were tougher than today's kids and learned to fend for ourselves.

It's funny at the end when the teeth ask him "Got any salt? Pepper maybe?"

This segment scared the stuffing out of me as a kid. My mother tells me that I would scream and run out of the room.

If he's not good at hearing then how does he respond to the questions?
Eeeeek! I'll bet this segment ended up on CTW's "discontinue" list for inspiring millions of nightmares: "Mommy, the teeth ate my whole room up again!"

Sesame Street had alot of scarey stuff back in the 70's.I can't imagine how many kids were like "Mommy,that mean hairy guy was yelling at me!" after watching "Fat Cat Sat".
