This is a quick tutorial on a technique I use called "benihana" to chop audio on the fly. Using Midipipe in conjunction with ableton live, I can get a momentary gate effect on audio that is not possible to do with Ableton out of the box.

@elevated001 what I found out after posting this is that most newer controllers with software editors can be configured to send two messages- one on, one off. But I don't know of a way to do this with just Ableton and no external software. Thanks for finding me btw, great hanging out last night. Were you tagged in those FB photos?

Yo do I met u @ Warper party last night. So this is what u were talking about,, I dig that gating effect, but I can NOT seem to accept there is no way to do this in Ableton only.
