it doesnt adjust your voice to hit the RIGHT notes (cos its a computer and doesnt know if you wanna sing a G# or a G). it just pulls the pitch to the nearest note, so you still need to have some basic singing talent to make it work.
that said, pretty much anyone who puts in enough effort can have basic singing skills.

Yes. Some decent singers have used autotune in the past, but it can also make people who can't sing sound like they can. Which is bullshit. Kesha, case and point

But yea, but if you got enough skills you can pretty much fix everything with melodyne :)
Melodyne is like autotune, though you can change the pitch manually which you can't do with autotune, hence the name "Auto-tune" :)

odd question, but autotune and vocoder require you to more or less be able to sing? Not quite sure how they work, I'm intimately familiar with the talk boxes however.
