Oxfam volunteers and members of the community took part in an approximately 6 kilometre walk from the Vancouver Art Gallery to Jericho Beach Park on April 18, 2009 in celebration of Earth Day.

The average distance that people in developing countries walk each day for clean water is 6 kms - a distance that is growing due to climate change. We walked with buckets of water to symbolize what millions of women and children have to go through every day just to access clean drinking water.
