Look @ worldwide data- wind does NOT produce meangful energy ANYWHERE Show me where it does! It is NOT clean, requiring toxic rare earth minerals (neodymium mined like hydrofracking in China,) in its powerful magnets, nonbiodegradable carbon blades (piling up in Denmark!), & millions of tons of cement manufactured & transported to sites. Filthy! And all for the profit of a very few developers/manufacturers (mainly in Europe) getting stinking rich from your tax dollars and mine! A major scam...

"Turbines could be down due to intrastructure upgrades"??? B.S. If you monitored the history of the Steel Winds Project since the beginning you would find these turbines have been broken down MOST OF THE TIME. This fact has also been report by The Buffalo News. It's very hard not to notice a broken down 800 pound gorilla! These are pieces of junk that have a very poor production record. Does Steel Winds bribe Lackawanna with money from subsidies (your tax dollars) absolutely.

It's an expression meaning the political corruption runs deep.

@jordapen what does that even mean? if you're going to make a comment at least make sense...

The rot runs deep!

You have really done your homework, subsidies? really? some of the information that I quickly and readily found on the internet without really trying too hard listed that as a privately held company getting no subsidies and actually giving money back to the community. Then I searched the buffalo news where it listed them as being in construction did you not think that the turbines could be down due to infrastructure upgrades to include the six new turbines? do your homework then we'll talk...
I would never admit I used the Buffalo News as a resource... it is so biased it is pathetic.

Wind is unsustainable as a business without the government's support in the form of tax incentives ans subsidies. When in 20010 wind recieved over $52/MW as compare to Coal wich received about $0.60/MW. I do not advocate any particular energy source, I understand the realities of each energy source. The money those wind farms in Lackawana is giving back is our tax dollars! Wind energy is expensive. It hurts business and the people that can least afford it, seniors and the working poor.

I'd love to see a wind farm that did not take advantage of the lurative subidies and tax incentives. It would be out of business. Wind recieves, according to the E.I. A., more subsidies than all other energies combined per mw of energy produced. you have to compare the subsides based on energy produced. the energy produced by wind is very smal and it contributes to sprawl. Wind does NOT reduce CO2 emissions, it has to be backed up by conventional power plants generally it is NG or Coal.
