Sad thing is people who think being free of children is selfish and those wretched pro-lifers aren't helping with real world issues. One last thing, it's also true that at work, child-free often cover for parents. At least, in my experience. And they're often asked to do so because "They have so much more time on their hands" which is not always true. It's true that I probably have more free time than someone with a child, but I use that free time to volunteer, and give back to society.

No, you can't lock your kid in the closet and tell them to not scream. But you can actually teach them that screaming and crying to get everything they want or just because they don't like something is NOT the way to solve their problems. Teach them the right way to handle things, that's YOUR job. YOU'RE PARENTS. Do what you wanted to do when you decided to procreate. PARENT YOUR CHILDREN. And that means doing more than just feeding them and providing for them. Teach them things too.

If they call the cops to come and tell people with kids to keep it down, nothing happens at all. The parents of the child just blame it on the child's age and that's the end of it. And most cops won't do anything but tell them to keep it down, because we're all trained into thinking that because they're kids, we should give them a break. That's the problem, parents want their kids to be treated like everyone else, but only when it works to their advantage, not to their disadvantage.

in this world, and this economy...having a child is one of the most insane things I can think of. After working all day with zero job security (nobody has it these days), worrying about retirement / saving for it, paying for healthcare, etc..., etc..., etc... If I was extremely wealthy to point where I didnt have to work, and had nothing but free time, then and only then would I consider it. In todays world, having children is a luxury I just cant afford / dont want to deal with.
