While the NASCAR Winston Cup Series was at Pocono for the Pennsylvania 500, the Busch Series traveled to Fountain, CO for the NAPA AutoCare 250. Kevin Harvick traveled from Pocono for this race and was a threat, but it was Jeff Purvis who dominated the day, winning his third Busch race. It was the fastest running Busch race at PPIR, as there was only one caution in the race.

With the regular TNT crew at Pocono, Rick Benjamin, Dorsey Schroeder, Ralph Sheheen, and Glenn Jarrett substituted for this race.
