"Birdie num num" used to be an in-joke among a group of us at work years ago. However, you couldn't adequately convey the funniness of the joke to team members who hadn't seen the film. Fortunately, I had a copy of "The Party" taped from TV, and we organised an evening to show the film to those colleagues unfamiliar with it. By the time the "birdie num num" scene got to Sellers experimenting with the home intercom system, the new viewers of the film were laughing helplessly.

this is my very favorite scene in the movie! LOVE it! It's because of this that "num nums" has long been my preferred euphemism for "snacks"

I work at a Super Target store, and as I was passing the receptionists desk on my way to a "meeting with my Team Lead" yesterday, I noticed the store intercom unattended. Since the termination of my employment seemed likely anyway, I decided to take advantage of the opportunity before me. I proceeded to cluck over the store-wide loud speaker for a good five seconds before I was caught. I'll find out tomorrow for sure whether I've been fired or not :)
