Me playing the allegro of Händel's flute sonata in G major.
It took me quite a long time to get to this recording (I think I made 10 or 12 recordings before this one...) so even though this one is riddled with errors I'm uploading it anyways^^

  • e.e lift your head up, it'll help your sound tremendously.

  • very nice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I think the biggest thing you should work on is your articulations... they are very important in baroque music and there are specific rules. i noticed a couple of different times where you slurred when you should have tongued and vice versa. your flute angle is fine, dont listen to tigerlillyj23. but the tempo was slow the entire time. you can speed it up to about 116. good job though, and keep up the good work.

  • @dragonkeeper9999 most baroque pieces, including handel's sonatas, dont have dynamics and articulations and other small ornaments written in because it was assumed that the performer was good enough to add them in on their own, since they knew the rules of baroque ornamentation. they are not printed in your book because you are supposed to learn to write in your own dynamics according to how baroque music was performed in that era.

  • Nice

  • 1st, your flute angle sucks, work on posture. and tempo was slow at the beginning compared to the rest of the piece. Also work on tone and dynamics.

  • good job! i did this piece too! check it out

  • brilliant! I'm trying to learn this piece at the moment, and its really hard. What was someone saying about dynamics on the b natural? not written in in my book. hmmm...

  • I think you should "lift" the ends of your phrases more. It's hard to explain..but for instance from 1:00 to 1:03, the last note was clipped a little. I would suggest making that last note like a long lift instead of a really short, clippped note. Also, I would highly recommend using dynamics. I have a copy of this solo for a contest, and I know that the B natural being held out for those 9 counts have huge dynamics written in, and they weren't played. Other than that...good job :)

  • Just saying, I noticed you were breathing between every note in one area. My sister has played this before. I also play the flute, however, I'm playing Sonata in F Major. Otherwise, good tone over all! Well played.
