  • lol you guys should.

  • Can anyone answer a question. Are those old photos or are these guys really still using round parachutes? Most videos on GCP are round shoots rather then new modern RAM air ones. Are the old pics or is that what they use?

  • the rounded ones are mostly used though

@Klvavite: Um yes, there are images of 6 REG in this presentation:

    1m22sec: 6REG, 1 CIE beach mine clearing

    1m32sec: 6REG DINOPS in Kayak

2m32sec: 6REG, 1 CIE providing security for mine clearing

    2m42sec: 6REG 1CIE boat patrol

All these pictures were taken by photographer Jose Nicolas at Lac de Codolet near the 6 REG (now called 1 REG) base.

You guys that have no idea what you are talking about, don't chime in as you have nothing to add.

  • Only GCP got HALO qualled before, not all of 2 REP. GCP also gets a higher level of training. DIN gets airborne and closed circuit qualled. Some considered them Spec Ops before.

  • @SlGRlD

Yup round ones for low altitude (~80 meters) jumping : thats how the 2Rep put the whole regiment on the ground in couple of minutes O_O

I never did or saw this kind of jump performed but the person that told me so did that in Kolwezi, he was the first man to jump there (and is (was?) a general in the legion)
