Unmata performing beautifully at the Blood Moon Regale 2006 Gotham Lockdown Afterparty on October 28 in Sacramento, CA. And yes, it's all improv.

  • the very first song is a great example of tribal fusion bellydance. It's a form of follow the leader based on cues from the leader who is positioned in the front left. you can see them change out leaders, and also slightly look over to the left for the cue to the next move/combo. It can be a flick of the wrist, look over the shoulder ~ any little body gesture. The second song is a signature UNMATA dance.

  • holy god that was fantastic.

    what is the second song???

  • I don't know the second song, but will try to find out

  • the second song is Flaco 81 by street drum corps

  • Awesome ladies! damn!

  • they seemed to have added some new members

  • You mean that they learn tons of "combinations", they practice it A LOT and then when they're on a presentation they watch the leader - so, if the leader does one movement or another, they know which combination they're supposed to do...if I'm right, they're FANTASTIC *___________* !!! Wow!!! Am I right? =D

  • ...how the HELL are they doing simultaneous improv?? They're like PSYCHIC O_O Amazing performances, and very beautiful!

  • Your dance is amazing~~!!what is the first song??? very good~

  • they're amazing! =D

  • As a student in their classes, I can tell you they have us dancing that stuff... and it is NOT choreography. ;) They have sets of moves you do one set on the pre-designated cue, and then watch the leader and take the next cue... and do the next set! impressive no? *grins* no mind reading, just good dance technique!

  • i just think this choreo is unbelieveable

  • Tons of hard work...no mind-reading necessary. :-) They're awesome!
