That cross marks the location where a young man was murdered. I knew him when he was very young and I attended his funeral services.

I'm very sorry to hear. Do you have any links to the story of him or the event?
I lived in the area when I was young and drove through to see it again.
The pool nearby use to be a very popular community destination.

Also, I wanted to follow up and ensure that no disrespect was intended. The video just reflects the oddity of seeing a cross, alone, in the desert. It invokes a strange feeling.
